ABOUT CLICK & CALL
1. What is Kooma "Click & Call"?
Kooma Click & Call is the latest way for our customers to connect with our network of talented spiritual Readers. This technology allows you to use your home broadband connection and a PC Headset to make an internet phone call. This is sometimes referred to as "VOIP" or "Web phone" technology.
If you have ever used Skype or MSN Messenger to make phone calls from your computer, the principle is exactly the same.
2. Why would I use Click & Call instead of a normal phone call?
For our customers who are always on the net and used to making web calls, Click & Call will be a welcome addition to the Kooma service. That being said, there are benefits to Click & Call that everyone can enjoy:
It Costs Less: Because we don't incur the same costs with internet calls as we do landline or mobile phone calls, we have passed these savings on to our customers. On average, Click & Call sessions are 15% less expensive than regular Credit Card and Premium Rate calls from your mobile or landline phone.
It's Cheaper From Abroad: The internet costs the same no matter where you use it from. So, whether you are next door at a friend's home or in a hotel room in Japan you can you Click & Call without costing your host any money. You'll simply be using their internet connection.
Please Note: Click & Call will only be available from within the UK during the Beta Trial period.
3. What's the call quality like on Click & Call sessions?
Excellent. In fact, we think it's even better than most mobile phones (and doesn't use up any of your Call Plan minutes!), but if you experience any problems during your call, please contact our Helpdesk on 0844 944 3044.
4. What Do I Need to Make It Work?
You'll need the following 4 things to make Click & Call work:
- A My Kooma Account. Get yours here
- A Broadband internet connection (to access the Kooma website)
- A PC Headset (like these).
- Credit or Debit Card
5. I already have a phone credit card account, why do I need to create separate one for Click & Call?
We're working hard to merge our phone credit card service with our web credit card registration. However, for now, you'll need to have 2 accounts with us if you'd like to use your credit or debit card to pay for both Phone readings and Click & Call readings.
We'll be adding a PayPal payment option to Click & Call soon, which should be very useful to many of our customers with a PayPal account.
6. What's a PC headset and how can I get one?
A PC Headset is the type of thing you see Agents wearing in Call Centres. It's simply a microphone and an ear piece that plugs into your PC. Sometimes they plug into your PC using the USB port, and sometimes they plug into those little red and green round microphone and speaker ports that you'll normally find on the left or right hand side of a laptop, or on back of a PC.
If you have a an external microphone and speak set-up, that will also work fine.
Click here to read a guide to using a headset with your PC. You can purchase one of these at any High Street computer or electronics shop for under £10 and they work pretty much straight out of the box.
USING THE SERVICE
7. I pressed the Click & Call button next to the Reader's profile and it took me to My Kooma. Why?
You need a My Kooma Account that's in credit to start a Click & Call session. Signing up to My Kooma takes only a couple of minutes, and when you do, you also gain access to more free content and tools than you would otherwise and we'll never share your information with a third party.
8. I pressed the Click & Call Button next to the Reader's profile and it took me to a purchase page. Why?
You need a My Kooma Account that's in credit to start a Click & Call session. Purchasing credit is totally secure and you can use your credit or debit card. You'll only need to enter your card details the first time you make a purchase. We'll shortly be adding PayPal option.
9. Can I choose a specific Reader with Click & Call?
Yes. Using click & Call works the same as choosing a Reader for a normal phone call in this regard. You'll need to use our handy Search facility to find the Reader that's just right for you. If you add the Search criteria "Online now", to your search, you'll only be shown the Kooma Readers who are live and ready to accept your Click & Call session.
You'll be able to tell they are ready because the small round "Online indicator" beside their picture will be green in colour (yellow means they are currently on another call or Click & Call session, and red means they are away for the time being).
10. When and why do I have to make a 'Test Call'?
While Click To Call is very easy to use, the technology behind it is quite complex. For this reason we require that you make a successful Test Call before purchasing your first session. The Test Call will simply play back a short recording for your to hear. If you do not hear it playing then please contact our Helpdesk and we'll do our best to help resolve the problem.
If you do hear the Test Call message playing then you are very unlikely to experience any sort of problem during your purchased session.
11. I was enjoying my Click & Call session and the call suddenly ended. What happened?
It's unusual these days, but sometimes your internet connection will drop out for whatever reason. The easiest way to check if this has happened is to try to open another website. If that site appears ok, then it might be due to clicking away from the Call Page.
The Click & Call page is the page that appears when your live session begins. It's important that this webpage be left alone during your session. Clicking away from this page is like hanging up a phone.
12. Can I use Kooma Click & Call from overseas?
Not yet, but very soon. For our Beta Trial period we are only accepting UK calls. We expect to be accepting Click & Call sessions from outside the UK in May 2009.
13. What is Java and why am I being asked to get the latest version?
Java is a computer application that many websites require to display right content such as animations. Java is totally safe and is provided by Sun Microsystems, a US computer giant. Downloading the latest Java version to your PC or Mac should only take a minute or two and will generally be of use to you for other websites as well as Kooma.
